yeah! i also get that confusion thing going on too coz like you adeline i cant speak chinese for shit..... i mean i speak and she eng just laughs, rolls her eyes and in turn i roll my eyes.
so when people ask me where i'm from it varies from time to time like:
Australian Angmo who i dun know: oh i'm from Brunei
their reply: Where is that?
does that mean that you are rich?
isnt that in Africa?

their reaction: ?!?!?!?!?! but how?! you are from brunei? shouldnt you be Bruneian?!
